Will Smyth
Head of Digital

Career History
Will joined Ministry of Sound in 2000 as Marketing Manager of their website. Here he developed a passion for everything digital and helped make the MoS website the largest youth culture website on the internet.

A year and a half later, Will realised that paid-for-search might just be a lucrative business model and joined search engine Mirago as Marketing and Business Development Manager. Google won.

Will missed the city and, in 2002 was the 25th employee at independent digital agency i-level where he was hired as a planner on the Yell and (ironically) Zurich accounts, winning the Revolution Award for Best Online Advertising for Yell. Rising swiftly through the ranks to Account Director, he worked on a raft of clients including Goldfish, The History Channel, Braun and Gillette, Proctor & Gamble and Orange. Latterly he managed a team of 20 people running the consolidated COI account (HM Government) and Sony account managing a portfolio of business worth around £25m.

After 5 and a half happy and successful years, he felt it was time for a change and joined Wieden + Kennedy as a strategist. Here he worked on Nokia, Nike and was involved in the UK’s first ‘live’ TV ad for Honda.

In August 2008, Will joined OMD UK as Digital Planning Director and was promoted to Head of Digital in August 2009.
