WeightWatchers has awarded its £10 million media planning and buying business to Omnicom’s OMD after a series of final pitches this week, mad.co.uk can reveal.
The media agency fought off competition from UK incumbent Carat, European incumbent Mediaedge:cia and Publicis Groupe’s Starcom.
No one from OMD was available for comment.
The win ends a 10 year relationship between the weight-loss brand and Carat in the UK. MEC will continue to handle the business in Europe, which was not part of the review.
WeightWatchers launched the review, which covers its meetings and licensed food business and Weightwatchers.co.uk, in September.
At the end of November, creative agency Isobel was awarded WeightWatchers' advertising account, snatching it from incumbent CHI & Partners without a pitch.
