Virgin Media debuts Red ident character tonight LONDON - Virgin Media is launching a four-minute ad break on Virgin 1 this evening (9 June) to showcase the channel's new character, Red, for the first time.
Red: new Virgin 1 character debuts tonightThe ad will be aired at 9.05pm on Virgin 1, just after the beginning of spy series Chuck. The 250-second ad will promote Virgin boss Richard Branson's portfolio that includes Virgin Media, Virgin Trains, Virgin Holidays and Virgin Atlantic.
The deal has been negotiated between Gordon McDowell, agency sales group head at IDS and Sarah Whitehead, associate director and Jake Amos, TV account manager from Manning Gottlieb OMD.
At the beginning of the month, Virgin Media announced a new identity, logo and character, Red, for its Virgin 1 channel
The red character will appear in Virgin 1 idents and will take charge of all programme navigation and credit rolls by adding its own commentary and onscreen activity.
